The Remembrance
This image was originally taken a couple of years ago. I used to be a freelance photographer for our local paper and Battle & Brightling were part of my patch.
I got to know quite a few of the ex-servicemen and enjoyed covering their remembrance events.
At a recent seminar in London I was also very fortunate to catch John D McHugh’s take on ‘photojournalism on the frontline’.
John is a photojournalist/multimedia war reporter for the Guardian.
His blog is well worth checking out especially his dramatic account & compelling images of an ambush in Afghanistan when he was shot by insurgents.
